Educational Activities
The Education Committee prepared a new 15-hour curriculum for middle school students to be offered Fridays from 9/30-11/4 due to the 4-day school week in Salida. It will cover life in the river, insects, biology of fish, offer hands-on experiments, fly tying, fly casting, basics of fly fishing, and take the kids fishing. Read more here!

We ALWAYS need volunteers to help us teach casting, gather and identify bugs, explain gear, discuss conservation, etc. You don't have to be an expert, just a willing hand. Contact Mike at 
Check out the new Stream Explorers Site!
Launched by the awesome staff at National TU, this site targets those 15 & under, BUT ANYONE new to flyfishing can benefit! Lots of basic on anatomy, entomology, tying, casting, gear, life cycles, etc. If you have a child or grandchild, membership in Stream Explorers would be a nice gift!
